This month debuts a labor of love and a life-long dream--- the premiere issue of HOLIDAY with Matthew Mead, a magazine filled with fresh, easy ideas that can be achieved in two or three steps. It's a novel approach to almost everything holiday, and I hope you take a chance to pick it up and see how these updated ideas might inspire you.
Also this month, our line of Christmas ornaments debuts at Macy's and macy.com. Inspired by the American Folk Art Museum in Manhattan, we created two-dimensional animal ornaments based on the painting PEACEABLE KINGDOM, and cinnamon-scented animal ornaments inspired by the BIRD OF PARADISE QUILT. There’s also a mix of garlands, wreaths, and mercury ornaments that are sure to become treasured family heirlooms. Oh, and pick up the December issue of COUNTRY HOME to see not only the beautiful ornaments, but also all the great things you can do with them beyond decorating the Christmas tree. And when you are in New York City, visit the museum to see some amazing and inspirational art from American artists.
The Web site has been updated to include video casts (the current ones are companions to our magazine) as well as downloads for Christmas wraps, gift tags, and labels. We love providing you with exciting, new materials, and we’re now happy to present you with actual clip art that you can download to make your own holiday tags and wraps.
As the new year approaches, I leave you with one request... more issues of MATTHEW MEAD branded magazines depends on your feedback. So, please send me a supportive E-mail that I can pass on to the publisher expressing your interest in more MATTHEW MEAD titles. I promise you, in return, that all future issues will be filled with amazing ideas, doable 2 and 3 steps projects (including craft and entertaining ideas), as well as my very best secret sources so you can create and achieve all the projects yourself at home!
Have a very merry Christmas... and check out my brand new book on EASTER EGGS with Chronicle Books--- in bookstores March 2007.
